Excellent Sx3 Sx3 swimmers were in outstanding form at the final round of the Southern Junior League 2011. Both the A and the B team had been through a couple of tough draw’s prior to the final round but this did not phase either team as they powered through their gala’s to stamp their mark on the other teams. The A team went into the final round placed in 5th but they had no intention of staying that position. The coaching team and swimmers had their sights set firmly on a top 3 spot and showed their strength from the start. At the halfway mark they were comfortably in 3rd place with Weston Super Mare and Swim Bournemouth holding joint 1st position. This simply encouraged our swimmers to try harder and with just a few events to go there were only a few points between the top three but with Sx3 now in 2nd place behind WSM. The swimmers were determined to give it everything they had got and tried to make a final push to take the victory but WSM were just a bit stronger. However a superb result for Sx3 A and to the delight of parents and swimmers Sx3 were crowned runners up and the top team in Wiltshire.
Meanwhile the B team travelled to Bridport with a severely depleted team, but they did not let this bother them. They swam an incredible gala with some swimmers in and out of the water with very little rest. They produced some of the best swimming they had throughout the competition. Again the winning points tussled between Sx3 and Bridport but the team refused to be beaten and their enthusiasm and efforts paid off as they were victorious by the end of the night.
