Open Water Success for Sx3 from Tigersharks Swimmers!

Three Tigersharks swimmers produced stunning swims at the ASA South West Regional Open Water competition last weekend.

Christopher Chapman (centre) was in outstanding form as he powered his way to 1st place in the 15-18 year age group and the Junior championship. With relatively balmy water temperature of 17 degrees and competing with a more experienced than last year Chapman (15) swam the 3k in a great time of 40.50.20 to take the title.

Meanwhile team-mate Alexander Eburne (13) was taking to the Open Water of the sea for the first time and having only ever practised in the Cotswold lakes. Eburne took on the 1500m race with an intention to come home with a medal. This he did as he swam to a superb 3rd place in the 14/U age category and 3rd in the Juniors. Eburne swam a time of 22.06.58 to post his Bronze medal winning place.

Georgia Pearce (13) also took to the open water of the sea for the first time but was certainly not fazed by the event. Georgia produced a great swim and time to place 6th in a very busy age group in a time of 23.38.69. A fantastic result for a first time swimmer to this competition.
